Jevathon recap: TypeSafe's build tips + the top 5 hacks
Field notes from Jev's first community hackathon at CodeRabbit in SF.
Build tips from TypeSafe's Allie Laabs & Alex Warren:
Jev always answers, so a non-answer is a type error. Add a "not applicable" choice or ask a separate validity question.
One state per request. Batch many questions about one state into a single call instead.
Pure numbers usually mean arithmetic, which belongs in code. Jev fits judgment on language.
Every response returns token usage, so an agent can budget first & reconcile after.
Top hacks:
Jevolution (wildlife ecosystem sim, 1st),
Jev Shopping Network (tackiness dials, 2nd)
Pixie Dust (browser flows to APIs, 3rd)
plus First Minutes (stroke triage) & GitHub Roast.
